01 Feb Board Certification Classes – Make your reservation now

Coastal Association Law Group is pleased to offer board certification training exclusively for the firm’s clients.  Each class will cover both homeowners’ association and condominium association law and association operations.  Each attendee completing the class will be issued a certificate of completion.

Classes will be presented by Suzanne Blankenship or Stephen Lowery

Within 90 days after being elected or appointed to a homeowners’ association or condominium association board, Florida law now requires that each director must certify in writing to the secretary of the association that he or she has read the association’s declaration of covenants, articles of incorporation, bylaws, and current written rules and policies; that he or she will work to uphold such documents and policies to the best of his or her ability; and that he or she will faithfully discharge his or her fiduciary responsibility to the association’s members. Alternatively, the newly elected or appointed director may submit a certificate of having satisfactorily completed the educational curriculum administered by a division-approved education provider within 1 year before or 90 days after the date of election or appointment. The written certification or educational certificate is valid for the uninterrupted tenure of the director on the board. A director who does not timely file the written certification or educational certificate shall be suspended from the board until he or she complies with the requirement. The Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes has approved our certification class. By attending the class and satisfying the statutory requirement you will be eligible to serve and will become knowledgeable as to the operation of the association and your duties as a member of the board.

Registration is required and seating is limited. No walk-ins, please. Cost: $50 per attendee. Classes will be held at CALG’s Pensacola office at 139 East Government Street. Reservations for any attendee may only be made by the association’s manager or president. The firm will bill the association directly for the cost of the class for each reservation made. For more information or to register for a class, contact us at fileadmin@coastalalg.com.

Private training sessions specifically tailored for your board can also be arranged. Contact us for dates and pricing.
