25 Aug HOA/COA Board Education Training to be offered on September 26 – Register Now
Within 90 days after being elected or appointed to the board, a newly elected or appointed director of a Florida condominium or homeowners’ association must certify in writing to the secretary of the association that he or she has read the association’s declaration of condominium, articles of incorporation, bylaws, and current written policies; that he or she will work to uphold such documents and policies to the best of his or her ability; and that he or she will faithfully discharge his or her fiduciary responsibility to the association’s members. In lieu of this written certification, the director may instead submit a certificate of having satisfactorily completed the educational curriculum administered by a division-approved education provider. Coastal Association Law Group, P.L. is pleased to announce that attorneys Suzanne Blankenship and Stephen Lowery will be presenting this educational class for HOA/COA directors as part of Community Associations Institute’s (CAI) annual Tradeshow on Friday September 26, 2014, at Baytowne Conference Center at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Club. The Tradeshow is free and open to the public. Numerous vendors offering products and services to community associations will host booths. The Tradeshow runs from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The HOA/COA Board Education Training class is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The class has been approved by the Florida Division of Condominiums, Time Shares and Mobile Homes and reservations are needed to attend.
